THE CARD · PRIVACY NOTICE

Effective date: 11/06/2026

This notice explains what The Golf Card, LLC ("The Golf Card," "we," "us") does with information in connection with The Card, a golf scoring and standings application at golfcardplay.com (the "App"). By creating an account you agree to this notice and to the Terms of Use, and both apply to you.

THE SHORT VERSION. We collect your phone number, your name, your email if you give it, and the golf you record. We do not sell your information, we do not advertise, and we use no analytics or tracking companies. Two features show your information to other people, and both only happen because you choose to use them. You can see, correct, export or delete what we hold by emailing us.

1. RECREATIONAL USE. The App is provided strictly for entertainment purposes, and may not be used for betting, wagering, or gambling of any kind. We do not hold, move, or process money between players, and nothing in this notice or in the App is intended to support any of those things.

2. WHAT WE COLLECT.

Information you give us. Your mobile telephone number, which is how you sign in and is the identifier for your account. Your name as you enter it. Your email address, if you give one, which we use for receipts, subscription notices and support. Your handicap index, if you enter one. Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

Information you create by using the App. Rounds, scores, pars, courses played, dates, games chosen, standings and results. The players you save in your roster, including the names, handicap indexes and, if you enter them, telephone numbers of people who may not have an account. Trips, trip groups, tee times and team names. Room codes and trip codes you create.

Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment processor collects your card details, billing name, email and address directly. We never see or store your card number. We receive and store only a customer reference, your subscription status, the renewal date, and the last four digits and card brand, so we can show you what you are paying for.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting and database providers record ordinary technical information when your device connects, including IP address, approximate region derived from it, browser and device type, and timestamps. Your device stores a sign-in token and a small number of preferences locally so you stay signed in. We record the version of the Terms you accepted and when.

Location. If you use the feature that finds courses nearest to you, your browser asks your permission and, if you allow it, sends your coordinates for that single lookup. The coordinates are used to search for courses and are not stored by us or attached to your account. You can refuse and search for a course by name instead.

3. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT. We do not collect your date of birth, your address, your government identification, your financial account details, your health information, your contacts, your photographs, or anything about you from outside the App. We do not buy information about you from anybody. We do not track you across other websites or applications, and the App contains no advertising network, analytics vendor, social media pixel or data broker of any kind.

4. HOW WE USE IT. To run the App: to sign you in, to keep your rounds and show them back to you, to score the games, to apply handicap strokes, and to show standings to the people in your round or trip. To run your subscription: to take payment, to send receipts, to tell you before a charge, and to deal with a failed payment. To support you: to answer a message you send us. To keep the App safe and working: to diagnose faults, to prevent abuse, and to enforce the Terms. To meet legal obligations, including tax and accounting records. We do not make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH. We use the following service providers. Each is given only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use it for their own purposes.

A golf course databaseCourse names, pars and stroke indexesA search term or a set of coordinates. No personal information and nothing about your account is sent to them

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, a court order or a valid legal request; where necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or a threat to anybody's safety; to establish or defend a legal claim; or to a buyer or successor if the business is sold or merged, in which case we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different notice.

6. WHAT WE NEVER DO. We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold any in the preceding twelve months. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise make it available to anybody for their own marketing. We do not use it to train any machine learning model.

7. WHAT YOU SHARE, AND YOUR CHOICE ABOUT IT. Two things in the App show information to other people. Both happen only because you choose to do them, and neither is required to use the App.

Players in your round or trip. When you add a playing partner, the name and handicap index you enter for them, and their scores, are visible to the other players in that round or trip. That is what makes group scoring work.

Room codes and trip codes. When you share a code so people can follow along, anybody who has that code can see the player names and the standings for that round without signing in, and can pass the code on to somebody else. A code is only as private as the people you give it to.

If you do not want either of these to happen, keep score on your own and do not share a code. You can stop at any time by not sharing further codes; a code you have already shared can be ended by closing the round.

8. MARKETING, AND HOW TO OPT OUT. We send marketing only if you ask for it. "Golf offers and news" on the Account screen starts switched off, and nothing marketing-related is sent unless you switch it on. You can switch it off again at any time on the same screen, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing us. Turning it off does not stop service messages, which are the sign-in code, receipts, subscription notices and replies to your support requests, and which you receive for as long as you hold an account.

9. COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE. The App does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores a small amount of data on your own device so that it works: a sign-in token so you are not asked for a code every time, your record of accepting the Terms, and a few display preferences. This data stays on your device, is not sent to any third party for advertising, and is removed when you sign out or clear your browser's data for the site.

10. SECURITY. We hold your information with established providers and use the protections they offer, including encryption in transit and access controls limiting who at The Golf Card can see it. Payment details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our systems. No service can promise perfect security, and a code you give out is only as private as the people you give it to. The limits on our liability in the Terms of Use, including Sections 15, 17, 19 and 20, apply to this notice as well, including to an outage, to information that is lost, and to information that was entered incorrectly.

11. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT. We keep your account and your rounds for as long as your account is open, because that is the point of the App. If you ask us to delete your account we do so within 30 days, except for records we are required to keep, such as payment and tax records, which we keep for as long as the law requires. If an account has been inactive and unsubscribed for more than three years, we may close it and delete it after writing to you first at the contact details we hold. Routine backups may retain a copy for a limited period after deletion.

12. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS. Whatever jurisdiction you live in, you may ask us to: tell you what we hold about you; give you a copy of it in a portable format; correct anything that is wrong; delete your account and the information we hold; or stop sending you marketing. Email support@golfcardplay.com. We will respond within 30 days and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm your identity, normally by asking you to make the request from the phone number or email address on the account.

If somebody added you to a round and you do not have an account, you have the same rights. Email us and we will remove your information.

13. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and other states with comparable laws have specific rights, which are the rights set out in Section 12: to know, to access, to correct, to delete, to data portability, and to opt out of sale, sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and profiling. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. We do not use personal information for profiling. We do not process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics. You may use an authorised agent to make a request, and we may ask that agent for proof of authority. California residents may also ask about the categories of information we disclosed to service providers in the preceding twelve months, which are the categories listed in Section 5. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will reconsider and respond within a further 45 days.

14. CHILDREN. The App is intended for a general, adult, recreational audience and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has created an account or that their information has been entered by somebody else, contact us and we will close the account and delete what we hold.

15. WHERE INFORMATION IS HELD. The App and its data are hosted in the United States. If you use it from outside the United States, you understand that your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

16. IF THIS CHANGES. We may update this notice as the App changes. If we begin collecting a category of information that is not described above, using information for a materially different purpose, or sharing it with a kind of recipient not listed above, we will update this notice, change the effective date, and tell you before the change takes effect. Where the law requires your consent for a new use, we will ask for it rather than assume it. We will never apply a materially different use to information we already hold without telling you first and giving you the chance to delete your account instead.

17. CONTACT. The Golf Card, LLC. Email support@golfcardplay.com with any question about this notice, or to exercise any right in it.
